Job Description

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the residential security estate in Gqeberha. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Gqeberha; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

What you'll actually do

  • Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
  • Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
  • Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
  • Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
  • Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
  • Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats

You'll need

  • Available for the occasional weekend emergency
  • Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
  • Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
  • Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must

What's in it for you

  • Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
  • On-site accommodation at some estates
  • Meals on duty at hotel sites
  • Uniform and safety boots supplied

How to apply

  1. Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
  2. Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): ID copy, references from previous maintenance jobs plus highest school or trade certificate.
  3. Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
  4. Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 7 working days.

How to stand out

  • Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
  • Before-and-after photos on your phone can win you this job. Offer to show them at the interview.
