Grape Harvest Worker (Wine Farm) – Permanent

You'll pick, prune and look after crops on a berry tunnel farm near Tzaneen through the season. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Tzaneen (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Tie up tomato and pepper plants in tunnels
• Keep your picking card or tag count for daily pay
• Weed beds by hand or with a hoe
• Plant seedlings in rows at the spacing shown
• Prune and thin fruit trees and vines to the farm's method
• Wash hands and use the field toilets for food safety

• Willing to start at sunrise
• Follows farm hygiene and safety rules
• Careful with fruit, since bruised fruit is rejected
• Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain

• Pruning experience on vines or fruit trees
• Living on or near the farm

• Seasonal accommodation on some farms
• Piece-rate bonus on top of daily wage
• Farm transport from nearby towns

• If you have picked before, say which crop and how many seasons. Farms rehire experienced pickers first.
• Have your bank details ready. Most farms pay into a bank account and will not start you without it.
