Group Accountant (Consolidations)

An audit and advisory firm in Paarl needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The work is in Paarl, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items

• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
