Hardware Store Yard Assistant

You'll keep the shelves full and tidy at a wholesale cash-and-carry in Somerset West, so shoppers find what they came for. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a wholesale cash-and-carry on the Somerset West side of Western Cape. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
• Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips
• Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
• Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled

• Neat appearance and punctual
• Grade 10 or matric
• Able to stand and lift cases all shift
• Honest, since stock losses are checked closely

• Previous shelf packing or merchandising work
• Own transport for route merchandising jobs
• Some till or cash-handling experience

• Staff discount on groceries
• Paid training in store procedures
