High-Pressure Wash Operator

You'll do the heavy cleaning at a newly built office block in Germiston, the kind that needs machines, chemicals and training. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a newly built office block on the Germiston side of Gauteng.

• Clean drains and grease traps in commercial kitchens
• Strip down and wash production equipment after the last run
• Store chemicals in the locked chemical store with safety data sheets
• Clear builders' dust, paint and cement off floors and windows after construction
• Foam, scrub and rinse walls, floors and conveyors with approved chemicals
• Run a high-pressure washer on grease, oil and slurry build-up
• Test sanitiser strength with test strips and record the reading

• Able to pass a medical fitness check for plant work
• Willing to work nights and weekends when plants shut down
• Physically strong for wet, heavy work
• Grade 10 or better; you must read chemical labels and safety data sheets
• Reliable, as crews are small and each person counts

• Paid training on machines and chemicals
• Full PPE: waterproof suits, boots, goggles and respirators
• Higher hourly rate than standard cleaning

• If you hold a heights or rope access ticket, attach it. It can double what you earn in this line of work.
