Hospital Admissions Clerk (Night Shift) – Fixed-Term

At a radiology group in Mbombela, your job is clean files, correct codes and money that comes in on time. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Mbombela-based, with most of your time spent at a radiology group. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Code consultations and procedures with ICD-10 and CCSA or NHRPL tariffs
• Check medical aid membership and benefits before each consultation
• Keep patient records locked and share them only with written consent
• Answer the phones and send clinical questions to the right nurse or doctor
• Send monthly statements and age the debtors book

• Confident with Excel and email
• At least 2 years in a medical practice, hospital or billing bureau
• Experience on a practice system such as GoodX, Elixir, Medinol or Healthbridge
• Friendly on the phone and firm about outstanding accounts
• Sound knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical aid tariff codes

• Experience with hospital case management and pre-auth
• Bookkeeping basics or Pastel knowledge for practice accounts
• Worked for a specialist discipline such as radiology, anaesthesia or orthopaedics

• Parking on site

• Keep your cover note short and error-free; front desk jobs are judged on how neatly you communicate.
• Specialist rooms care about the discipline, so say if you've coded for surgeons, anaesthetists or radiologists.
