Job Description

Guests at this boutique guesthouse in Mamelodi meet you first, so the stay starts at your desk. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a boutique guesthouse on the Mamelodi side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Check guests in and out on Opera or Protel, and scan IDs and passports.
Run the night audit, close the day and print the flash report.
Quote flights, car hire and holiday packages on a GDS such as Amadeus or Galileo.
Store guest details securely in line with POPIA.
Handle complaints at the desk and log them for the duty manager.
Manage OTA bookings coming in from online travel channels.

What you need

Confident on a computer and quick to learn a property system
You can work rotating shifts, including nights
Matric
Honest with cash and card payments
Calm with an unhappy guest at 11pm
A hospitality or tourism diploma, or 1 year at a hotel front desk

Helpful, not essential

Revenue or yield management exposure
Opera PMS or Protel certificate
A foreign language such as German, French or Portuguese
