Job Description

Cleaning, laundry and a hand with the kids: that is the week in a family home in Midrand. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in Midrand. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
Clean windows and patio doors once a week
Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals

What you need

Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
South African ID or valid work permit

Helpful, not essential

Experience caring for an older person
Basic first aid or child CPR course

What you get

Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer
Written contract with fixed hours and duties
Transport money for live-out staff
