Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel) – Entry Level

Guests at a game lodge in Cape Town CBD will never meet you, but they will judge the stay by your work. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a game lodge in Cape Town CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day

• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Grade 10 or matric
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Well groomed

• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
• Experience with industrial laundry machines

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
