Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

Guests at a game lodge in Pretoria East will never meet you, but they will judge the stay by your work. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a game lodge in Pretoria East. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights

• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Grade 10 or matric
• Well groomed

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
