HR Business Partner (Logistics)

You'll handle the full HR cycle for an open-cast mine in Epping, from hiring to hearings. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at an open-cast mine in Epping. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Handle grievances with notes, dates and a clear written outcome.
• Coordinate training and submit SETA grant claims on time.
• Run exit interviews and report turnover each quarter.
• Compile the Employment Equity report and the Workplace Skills Plan.
• Chair or initiate disciplinary hearings and write up the outcome.
• Advise line managers on the Labour Relations Act and the BCEA.
• Update HR policies when labour law changes.

• Valid driver's licence for multi-site roles
• At least 3 years as an HR officer or generalist
• Solid working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA
• Good report writing and Excel
• A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
• Confident facilitating hard conversations with managers and unions

• Company car or travel allowance for site visits
• Medical aid and provident fund contributions
• CPD and SABPP fees paid

• Name the bargaining councils or unions you have dealt with, as sector knowledge often decides the shortlist.
• Prepare for a case-study question on dismissing an employee fairly, and walk through procedure and substance.
