HR Business Partner (Logistics)

This open-cast mine in Johannesburg CBD needs an HR person who knows labour law and the shop floor. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is an open-cast mine on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Chair or initiate disciplinary hearings and write up the outcome.
• Run onboarding, contracts and probation reviews for new staff.
• Handle grievances with notes, dates and a clear written outcome.
• Advise line managers on the Labour Relations Act and the BCEA.
• Update HR policies when labour law changes.
• Coordinate training and submit SETA grant claims on time.
• Represent the company at CCMA conciliations and arbitrations.

• A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
• At least 3 years as an HR officer or generalist
• Solid working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA
• CCMA experience, at least at conciliation
• Confident facilitating hard conversations with managers and unions

• Experience on a unionised site or in a bargaining council sector
• Skills development facilitator (SDF) training
• HR system experience such as Sage 300 People or PaySpace

• Quantify your IR work: how many hearings, CCMA cases and outcomes; that is what HR managers check first.
