HR Business Partner (Logistics)

You'll handle the full HR cycle for an open-cast mine in Randburg, from hiring to hearings. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Randburg-based, with most of your time spent at an open-cast mine. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Advise line managers on the Labour Relations Act and the BCEA.
• Handle grievances with notes, dates and a clear written outcome.
• Run exit interviews and report turnover each quarter.
• Represent the company at CCMA conciliations and arbitrations.
• Compile the Employment Equity report and the Workplace Skills Plan.

• Valid driver's licence for multi-site roles
• Solid working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA
• At least 3 years as an HR officer or generalist
• CCMA experience, at least at conciliation
• Good report writing and Excel
• Confident facilitating hard conversations with managers and unions

• Skills development facilitator (SDF) training
• HR system experience such as Sage 300 People or PaySpace

• CPD and SABPP fees paid
• Company car or travel allowance for site visits

• Prepare for a case-study question on dismissing an employee fairly, and walk through procedure and substance.
• Quantify your IR work: how many hearings, CCMA cases and outcomes; that is what HR managers check first.
