Job Description

Keeping an agricultural pack house in Midrand fair, legal and well staffed is the heart of this job. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Midrand (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Consult with shop stewards and attend union meetings.
Compile the Employment Equity report and the Workplace Skills Plan.
Represent the company at CCMA conciliations and arbitrations.
Chair or initiate disciplinary hearings and write up the outcome.
Advise line managers on the Labour Relations Act and the BCEA.
Handle grievances with notes, dates and a clear written outcome.

You'll need

Confident facilitating hard conversations with managers and unions
Solid working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA
CCMA experience, at least at conciliation
A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
Valid driver's licence for multi-site roles
At least 3 years as an HR officer or generalist

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a unionised site or in a bargaining council sector
Skills development facilitator (SDF) training
HR system experience such as Sage 300 People or PaySpace
