HR Manager (Small to Medium Business)

Keeping an agricultural pack house in Mokopane fair, legal and well staffed is the heart of this job. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Mokopane-based, with most of your time spent at an agricultural pack house.

• Chair or initiate disciplinary hearings and write up the outcome.
• Run exit interviews and report turnover each quarter.
• Update HR policies when labour law changes.
• Track leave, absenteeism and sick notes and act on patterns.
• Coordinate training and submit SETA grant claims on time.

• At least 3 years as an HR officer or generalist
• A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
• Valid driver's licence for multi-site roles
• CCMA experience, at least at conciliation

• Experience on a unionised site or in a bargaining council sector
• Skills development facilitator (SDF) training

• Annual performance bonus
• Company car or travel allowance for site visits
• Medical aid and provident fund contributions

• Name the bargaining councils or unions you have dealt with, as sector knowledge often decides the shortlist.
• Prepare for a case-study question on dismissing an employee fairly, and walk through procedure and substance.
