This fast-fit tyre and service centre in Cape Town CBD needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a fast-fit tyre and service centre in Cape Town CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval

• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Your own basic toolbox
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
