ICU Registered Nurse (Day Shift) – Permanent

Bring your SANC registration and your ward experience to a step-down and sub-acute facility in Soweto that needs a steady pair of hands. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Soweto-based, with most of your time spent at a step-down and sub-acute facility.

• Take handover at the bedside and plan care for your allocated patients
• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families
• Prepare patients for theatre and receive them back from recovery
• Run emergency trolley checks and respond to cardiac arrest calls
• Report adverse events and near misses on the incident system the same day
• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift

• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, with this year's annual fees paid
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• Valid BLS certificate; ACLS or PALS for ICU and emergency posts

• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Study support for post-basic specialities
• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training

• For night-duty posts, say clearly in your cover note that you want permanent nights, as many applicants only want days.
• Check your SANC receipt is for this year before you apply; an unpaid annual fee gets your application parked.
