Professional Nurse (Maternity and Labour Ward)

Bring your SANC registration and your ward experience to a private maternity unit in Centurion that needs a steady pair of hands. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a private maternity unit in Centurion. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance and early warning scores, and escalate changes quickly
• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift
• Take part in ward rounds with doctors and record the new orders
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register
• Report adverse events and near misses on the incident system the same day

• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly
• Current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, with this year's annual fees paid
• Clean criminal record
• Valid BLS certificate; ACLS or PALS for ICU and emergency posts

• Experience with electronic patient records or bedside charting systems
• Unit manager or shift leader experience

• Medical aid and pension fund contributions after probation
• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training
• Study support for post-basic specialities
• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
