Job Description

A financial services company legal department in Brakpan needs an attorney who can draft, advise and stand up in court. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Brakpan (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What your day looks like

Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
Keep trust account instructions and fee notes accurate
Review company processes for POPIA and privacy compliance
Record billable time and hit the monthly target
Track legislation changes that affect clients' businesses

You'll need

Right of appearance in the High Court for litigation posts
Able to manage client relationships without a senior in the room
Enrolled with the Legal Practice Council and holding a current Fidelity Fund certificate if you handle trust money
Strong drafting and legal research
Sound judgement under deadline pressure
LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa
