Job Description

Your subject, your classroom and learners who need you to believe in them: that's this faith-based independent school in Stellenbosch. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a faith-based independent school on the Stellenbosch side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term

You'll need

Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
