Intermediate Phase Teacher (Grade 5) – Immediate Start

You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at a faith-based independent school in Vanderbijlpark. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a faith-based independent school on the Vanderbijlpark side of Gauteng. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
• Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP

• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
