IT Helpdesk Agent (Night Shift)

A managed IT services provider in Polokwane needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Polokwane, Limpopo, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves

• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma

• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices
• ITIL Foundation

• Paid certification exams after probation
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles
• Standby pay for after-hours cover
• Company laptop and cellphone

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
