Job Description

Patch, monitor, back up and harden systems at a data centre in Epping. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at a data centre. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Apply monthly patches to servers and network devices
Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills

You'll need

At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
Clear change management and documentation habits
Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
