IT Intern (Support Desk)

You'll be the person who fixes it when laptops, printers and logins break at a group of private schools in Centurion. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is in Centurion (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers

• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)

• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices
• Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management
• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification

• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Paid certification exams after probation
• Company laptop and cellphone
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
