Data Engineer (Azure Data Factory)

You'll turn messy data into reports managers actually use, for a telecoms provider in Roodepoort. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Roodepoort-based, with most of your time spent at a telecoms provider. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Present findings to managers in plain language with clear charts
• Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python
• Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA
• Check data quality and trace odd numbers back to the source
• Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
• Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel

• Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
• Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
• At least 2 years in a data or reporting role (not needed for graduate posts)
• Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field

• Latest laptop with extra screen

• Build one public portfolio dashboard on a South African open data set if you have no work samples to share.
