IT Manager (Mid-Sized Company) – Immediate Start

You'll keep servers, networks and cloud services up and secure for an university IT department in Secunda. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is an university IT department on the Secunda side of Mpumalanga. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
• Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
• Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
• Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
• Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
• Build and maintain virtual machines on Hyper-V, VMware or Azure

• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts

• ISO 27001 audit experience
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
