Network Engineer (Cisco and Fortinet)

Patch, monitor, back up and harden systems at a manufacturing group with several sites in Mbombela. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Mbombela; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
• Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
• Manage users, groups and conditional access in Entra ID
• Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
• Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures

• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
• Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration

• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh
