IT Service Desk Agent (First Line)

A hospital group in Fourways needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Fourways; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves

• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts

• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Paid certification exams after probation
• Standby pay for after-hours cover

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
