Job Description

A data centre in Vereeniging needs infrastructure that just works, and someone to make it so. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Vereeniging (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

What you'll actually do

Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
Build and maintain virtual machines on Hyper-V, VMware or Azure
Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts
Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills

What you need

At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge

Nice if you have

CCNA, Fortinet NSE or MikroTik certification
ISO 27001 audit experience
