IT Service Desk Agent (First Line)

A managed IT services provider in Welkom needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in Welkom; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID

• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365

• Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management
• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices

• Company laptop and cellphone
• Paid certification exams after probation
• Travel allowance for field technicians

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
