Java Developer (Banking Systems)

A fintech start-up in Alberton needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Alberton (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

• Write unit and integration tests before you merge
• Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
• Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
• Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
• Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards

• A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
• Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
• Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
• You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
• Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
• Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript

• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
