Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a bank's digital channels team in Bellville. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a bank's digital channels team on the Bellville side of Western Cape. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work

What you need

Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people

Extra points for

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
