Job Description

You'll turn messy data into reports managers actually use, for a telecoms provider in Pretoria East. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a telecoms provider on the Pretoria East side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Write SQL to pull, join and clean data from several sources
Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions
Present findings to managers in plain language with clear charts
Build simple forecasting and segmentation models in Python or R
Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel

Must-haves

Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Careful with sensitive customer data
Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
At least 2 years in a data or reporting role (not needed for graduate posts)

Helpful, not essential

Industry knowledge in retail, insurance or credit
Python with pandas for data wrangling
