Junior IT Technician (Schools) – Permanent

You'll be the person who fixes it when laptops, printers and logins break at a corporate head office in Mthatha. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Mthatha, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
• Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users

• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma

• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices
• ITIL Foundation
• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification

• Company laptop and cellphone
• Paid certification exams after probation
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles

• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
