Junior IT Technician (Schools)

Tickets come in all day at this corporate head office in Pinetown, and you close them. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a corporate head office in Pinetown. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system
• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops

• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users

• ITIL Foundation
• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification
• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices

• Standby pay for after-hours cover
• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles

• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
