Junior IT Technician (Schools)

A managed IT services provider in Pretoria East needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is in Pretoria East (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID

• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts

• ITIL Foundation
• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification
• Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management

• Company laptop and cellphone
• Standby pay for after-hours cover
• Paid certification exams after probation

• List your certifications right under your name; A+ and ITIL are common keyword filters.
• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
