Junior Safety Officer (Housing Projects)

You'll keep the site legal and the workers safe for the renewable energy construction site in Alberton. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a renewable energy construction site on the Alberton side of Gauteng. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work

• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• You write clear reports in English
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer

• Fall protection planner training
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• Diploma in Safety Management

• Travel and site allowances
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Laptop and data for reporting
