Cost Estimator (Shopfitting) – Immediate Start

The main building contractor in Benoni needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Benoni-based, with most of your time spent at a main building contractor. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager

• Code 08 licence for site visits
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work

• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
