Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: an insurance company software team in Fourways. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is an insurance company software team on the Fourways side of Gauteng.

What your day looks like

Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries

What you need

Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience writing automated tests

Extra points for

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
