Job Description

An import and export trading house in Umlazi needs a tax practitioner who knows eFiling inside out. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Umlazi-based, with most of your time spent at an import and export trading house. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules
Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Keep client tax files complete for five years
Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE

You'll need

Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience

Extra points for

Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
