Group Accountant (Consolidations)

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a private school trust in Umhlanga. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The site is in Umhlanga; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules

• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased

• Power BI or a similar BI tool
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
• Completed articles at an audit firm
