Last-Mile Parcel Driver (E-commerce) – Entry Level

Every parcel scanned, every drop confirmed: that is the job at an engineering firm in Paarl. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Location: Paarl, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Deliver chronic medication to patients' homes and confirm ID
• Collect spares and parts from suppliers and bring them to the workshop
• Fill up the vehicle and keep fuel slips for the logbook
• Phone customers when the address is hard to find
• Bank cheques, post documents and run office errands
• Follow the delivery app for route and stop order
• Return undelivered parcels to the depot with a reason code

• Able to work Saturdays
• At least 1 year of driving experience
• Clean driving record and no criminal record
• Polite with customers at the door
• Smartphone and comfortable using delivery apps
• Valid Code 8 (B) licence, or A licence for motorbike roles

• Company van, bakkie or scooter provided
• Branded uniform and rain gear
• Fuel card for work trips
• Per-drop incentive on busy days

• Say you have a smartphone and know delivery apps. Most courier jobs now run through an app and training time is short.
• For owner-driver jobs, list your vehicle's make, year and load size. They hire the vehicle as much as the driver.
