Laundry Attendant (Lodge) – Entry Level

Housekeeping keeps a self-catering resort in Pretoria West running quietly in the background. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Pretoria West (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.
• Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.
• Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.
• Do evening turndowns with chocolates and curtain closing.
• Update room status on the housekeeping app or board after each room.

• Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
• Grade 10 or higher
• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow
• Fit enough to lift mattresses and push trolleys all day
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience

• Basic first aid certificate
• A supervisor course or time spent running a floor
• Laundry machine and steam press experience

• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts
• Uniform and protective gloves supplied
• Monthly award for best room scores

• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
