LHD Operator (Underground Scoop) – Experienced

If you run a machine safely and hit your cycle times, this open-pit manganese mine near Upington will keep you busy. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Upington, Northern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Respect the collision avoidance system warnings and park-up rules
• Keep radio contact with the dispatch controller and follow the right-of-way rules
• Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump
• Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer
• Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required
• Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew

• Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner
• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
• Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations
• Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster

• Certificates on two or more machine types
• Machine training instructor experience
