Licensed Plumber (PIRB Registered) – Permanent

You'll sort out burst geysers, leaks and blockages for the commercial building contractor in Krugersdorp. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a commercial building contractor on the Krugersdorp side of Gauteng. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
• Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
• Order fittings from the supplier and keep the van stocked
• Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts
• Clear blocked drains with a rodding machine and inspect lines with a drain camera
• Install copper, PEX and PVC piping for new bathrooms and kitchens

• PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
• Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
• Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
• Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
• Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
• Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)

• Heat pump and solar geyser installation experience
• Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork

• Paid PIRB renewal fee
• Protective clothing and safety boots replaced yearly
• Cellphone allowance for job updates and photos

• Do not list every plumbing task you have ever done. Focus on geysers, drainage and CoCs, which is what these jobs pay for.
