Linux Systems Administrator

A managed services provider in Richards Bay needs infrastructure that just works, and someone to make it so. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a managed services provider on the Richards Bay side of KwaZulu-Natal. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
• Build and maintain virtual machines on Hyper-V, VMware or Azure
• Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
• Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
• Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
• Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules

• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python

• CCNA, Fortinet NSE or MikroTik certification
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh

• Medical aid and provident fund
• Standby allowance and overtime for maintenance windows
• Funded certification path
