Liquor Store General Assistant – Permanent

Night fill, weekends or month-end rush, a neighbourhood supermarket in Germiston needs extra hands. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Germiston-based, with most of your time spent at a neighbourhood supermarket.

• Clean spills fast and put up wet-floor signs
• Unpack deliveries in the receiving area and sort by aisle
• Collect trolleys from the parking lot
• Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables
• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
• Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
• Visit several stores on a merchandising route and send photos of shelves

• Available for weekends, month-end and public holidays
• Grade 10 or matric
• Able to stand and lift cases all shift
• Basic reading and maths for price checks

• Previous shelf packing or merchandising work
• Own transport for route merchandising jobs

• Paid training in store procedures
• Chance to move into till or department roles
• Travel allowance on merchandising routes
• Staff discount on groceries

• If you have ever sold anything, even at a school tuck shop or a family stall, list it. It shows you are comfortable with customers.
