Live-In Housekeeper and Nanny – Permanent

You'll keep a large estate home in Bellville clean, calm and running smoothly for the family. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Bellville-based, with most of your time spent at a large estate home. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards

• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Good with children and patient
• South African ID or valid work permit
• Able to speak and understand basic English

• A driver's licence for school lifts
• Basic first aid or child CPR course

• Written contract with fixed hours and duties
• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer
• Transport money for live-out staff

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
