Load Planner (Road Freight) – Immediate Start

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a road freight company in Klerksdorp. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Klerksdorp (North West). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries

• Good with Excel and email
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office

• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
• Transport management system (TMS) experience

• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts

• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
