Job Description

Running the front desk of a business hotel in Polokwane means calm service and a clean shift balance. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a business hotel in Polokwane. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

  • Quote flights, car hire and holiday packages on a GDS such as Amadeus or Galileo.
  • Manage OTA bookings coming in from online travel channels.
  • Book shuttles, dinner reservations and game drives for guests.
  • Run the night audit, close the day and print the flash report.
  • Allocate rooms and pass early check-ins to housekeeping.

What you need

  • Matric
  • You can work rotating shifts, including nights
  • Clear spoken and written English
  • Calm with an unhappy guest at 11pm
  • Confident on a computer and quick to learn a property system
  • A hospitality or tourism diploma, or 1 year at a hotel front desk

Extra points for

  • Opera PMS or Protel certificate
  • A foreign language such as German, French or Portuguese
